The who, what, when, where, and why...

Introduction;
Okashi is a website offering Cardcaptor Sakura-related resources. Visitors can find an array of free, premade graphics featuring characters from the series including assorted signs, desktop wallpapers, livejournal icons and layouts. There are also resources such as brushes, textures and .PNG files available for visitors to use in their own graphics as well as tutorials to help. In additon, Okashi also runs a request service offering custom graphics!

The Name;
Okashi is Japanese for 'Sweets', and given that this website offers goodies for visitors, the name only seemed appropriate. It was thought of after hearing the song 'Okashi no Uta,' a duet between Kero-chan and Suppi's voice actors.

History;
Unlike Mahou Shoujo and Cheerio!, Okashi does not have an epic history that spans months and years. In fact, the idea for this 'sub-site' only came about somewhat recently when I was updating the resource section and thought "what if...?" I had the idea that I wanted to expand the resource section to include more graphics, resources and tutorials but at that time, the section was already overcrowded and really, there was no room to expand within the website so therefore, I decided to move that section to its own site, the result of which is what you see before you! ;D

From there, it was simply a matter of creating a layout, coding the pages and uploading everything, all of which only took a day or two XD.

Previous Layouts;
Version I
18/7/2008 - 13/1/2009
For the first layout of Okashi, I attempted to do something a little different to what I normally do. This style was something that I had only just started to experiment with, and only used in a few other works beforehand (namely small graphics like forum signatures). Needless to say, this layout could have done with a little more refinement, however, I still love the outcome, the colours especially (which always seem to be my favourite part of any layout I create ;D). Another aspect of this layout which I just love is the CSS coding I used - it all just worked. From the headers to the rollover links, everything was cohesive and complimented each element of the layout. Unfortunately however, Version I was most likely never seen by public eyes, as Mahou Shoujo went down shortly after Okashi was opened and when Mahou Shoujo returned, all the network sites (Cheerio and Okashi) got a facelift in order to match the layout of Mahou Shoujo.

Up and Coming;
Future plans for Okashi involve one thing: add more content! When time and inspiration are plentiful, expect to see more graphics, resources and tutorials. Of course, if there is something in particular you would like to see more of, then just email me and that will go to the top of my list! ;D
