Side Stories
In addition to the 50 chapters or 12 volumes that comprise Cardcaptor Sakura, there are also two side stories, which were included as a sort of bonus in the artbooks. The first side story was included in the Cardcaptor Sakura Illustrations Collection while the second side story was included in the Cardcaptor Sakura Illustrations Collection 2. Entitled Honey Milk, each story deals with how a character overcomes his or her fever by drinking a concoction of warm milk and honey, or 'Honey Milk.'Side Story I - Sakura Gets Sick
 It is dinnertime and Touya and Yukito are both in the kitchen cooking curry. Sakura is suppose to be home by this time but she is yet to arrive. At that moment, Yukito hears a voice coming from the entry way: it is Tomoyo's voice.Standing in the entry way is Tomoyo supporting an exhausted Sakura. Although Sakura feels fine apart from being a little dizzy, Touya puts his hand to her forehead and feels her temperature. Being worried about her friend, Tomoyo walked Sakura home, much to the gratitude of Touya. Yukito asks whether Sakura is alright, however, when she attempts to nod she only makes herself more dizzy. As Tomoyo leaves in her ride, Touya helps Sakura to her bedroom. Upon seeing Sakura enter her room, an alarmed Kero flies over to Sakura and asks her what has happened. When Sakura tells Kero she has a cold, he feels her forehead: Sakura is burning up. It has been a long time since Sakura has had a fever, and this has Touya and Yukito worried. As Sakura gets into bed to rest, she thinks back to the last time she had a cold. Touya made her some warm milk with honey, something that their mother use to make whenever they were sick, in order to feel better. Downstairs in the kitchen, Touya is making something. A curious Yukito enquires as to what Touya is making and Touya explains that it is warm milk with honey and that it is something Sakura always drinks whenever she has a a fever. Back in Sakura's room, Sakura is positive that Touya will bring her some honey milk soon as he did the last time she was sick and that she will be fine tomorrow. Side Story II - Syaoran Gets Sick
 Looking sick, Sakura asks if Syaoran is okay. Syaoran reassures Sakura that he is fine, however Sakura is not convinced. She puts her hand to his forehead and feels that he his burning up, her touch making his temperature even higher.As the school day ends, Sakura and Tomoyo walk a sick Syaoran home. Once again, Sakura asks if Syaoran is really okay and once again he reassures her that he really is fine and that he will go home, take some medicine and get some sleep. However, Sakura is still not convinced. At Sakura's house, Yukito and Touya are in the kitchen cooking when a concerned Sakura walks in. Seeing the expression on Sakura's face, Yukito asks Sakura what is troubling her. Sakura explains that Syaoran has a really high fever and Yukito suggests that it could be a cold considering it is cold at night. While Sakura was talking, Touya prepared a care package for her to take to Syaoran. After changing out of her school uniform, Sakura heads to Syaoran's apartment. There she delivers the care package to Syaoran and using his kitchen, prepares some warm milk with honey for him. She explains to Syaoran that she drinks honey milk whenever she has a cold. Syaoran begins to drink the honey milk. Sakura hopes that his fever will go down quickly and that he will be fine tomorrow - "Everything will definitely be all right." |
