Romance
A major theme in Cardcaptor Sakura is that of romance, and in particularly, love in all its forms. Unlike other Magical Girl series, Cardcaptor Sakura does not shy away from what some consider to be controversial or even 'bad' relationships. From heterosexual and same-sex relationships to student/teacher relationships and everything in between, the message conveyed about love in the series is that the only thing that is important between two people is that they love one another. Other things such as the circumstances surrounding the romance or what type of people they may be do not matter.
