Two feature-length films were released as part of the Cardcaptor Sakura anime series. The first feature film, "Cardcaptor Sakura - The Animated Movie," along with the second feature film, "Cardcaptor Sakura - The Sealed Card," were animated by Madhouse, the studio responsible for the animation of the television series, and directed by Morio Asaka while the voice talents for the feature films were provided by the cast of the television series.

Four months after all the Clow Cards have successfully been transformed into Sakura Cards, life in Tomoeda has returned to normal and Sakura, the Mistress of the Cards, is now in the 6th grade. However, the matter of replying to Syaoran's confession still remains. Sakura understands her true feelings towards Syaoran, and knows how to reply. The only issue: Syaoran has already returned home to Hong Kong. To both the the relief and dismay of Sakura, Tomoyo and Meiling have planned ahead and organised the two's reunion. However, before Sakura has a chance to confess her true feelings, she feels a new, evil magical presence and finds that her cards are disappearing along with parts of Tomoeda...
