Commonplace in Japanese television programmes, eye catches are short, animated illustrations or scenes used to begin and end a commercial break, which usually occurs at the halfway mark of the show.
Several different eye catches are used in Cardcaptor Sakura. Each eye catch begins with a spinning card that eventually stops to reveal a character card, which is usually Sakura, although it is sometimes Tomoyo, Syaoran, Kero-chan, Meiling, Eriol or Suppi, depending on the focus of the episode. During the Clow Card arc, the eye catches featured a pink background with character cards similar to the Clow Cards, while during the Sakura Card arc, the eye catches featured a blue background with character cards similar to Sakura Cards.
Below you can find all the eye catches and what epidode(s) it was used for!
