In Japan, the series of Cardcaptor Sakura has been released in a number of formats over the years. There have been Cardcaptor Sakura VHS's, Cardcaptor Sakura LD's as well as Cardcaptor Sakura DVD's, all released by Bandai Visual. More recently however, the series has seen a re-released by Geneon Entertainment in the form of box sets, which consist of an array of extras and special features not previously included in other releases of the series. North America has also seen a DVD release of an unedited, subbed version of Cardcaptor Sakura by Pioneer (later Geneon and now defunct) as well as two box sets.
