Cardcaptor Sakura?

Cardcaptor Sakura, or more commonly CCS, is a mahou shoujo ('magical girl') series, created by CLAMP, a popular all-women mangaka group. Beginning as a manga series in the June 1996 issue of the monthly magazine, Nakayoshi, CCS spanned a total of 12 volumes -- published by Kondansha -- or 50 chapters, making it one of CLAMP's longest, and not to mention, most successful series. Cardcaptor Sakura follows Sakura Kinomoto, an ordinary ten-year-old girl in 4th grade at Tomoeda Elementary, who, one fateful day, stumbles upon a mysterious book entitled 'The Clow.' After opening the book, Sakura discovers a world of magic and love in all it's forms.

Eventually Cardcaptor Sakura became an anime series beginning on April 8, 1998 with the premier of the first episode, "Sakura and the Mysterious Magic Book," on the Japanese television station, NHK. Animated by Madhouse and directed by Morio Asaka, the anime series spanned a total three seasons, or 70 episodes as well as two feature films and three original animation videos (OAV's).

Although the series concluded in 2000, Cardcaptor Sakura has become one of the most well-loved anime and manga series of all time. In 2007, Cardcaptor Sakura was voted as the 8th best anime series of all time in the July issue of Animedia magazine while Sakura was voted as the 5th favourite female character of all time, Syaoran was voted as the 8th favourite male character of all time and Kero-chan was voted as the 3rd favourite mascot of all time.
